SRINAGAR: Dal Khalsa on Sunday condemned the “reign of terror” unleashed by Indian forces on protestors in Kashmir following the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani.
In a statement issued here, the Sikh group said: “Following the martyrdom of Kashmiri brave heart Burhan Wani, the Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror on protesters by firing indiscriminately on them.”
Expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir, the Dal Khalsa said the people of Punjab share the pain and concerns of their neighbours. “The participation of thousands of Kashmiris in the funeral of Burhan has exhibited their love and respect for their heroes. Burhan choose the path of martyrdom to uphold the spirit of non-submission to New Delhi’s tyranny,” the statement said.
The party head Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema urged the world powers to “rise above the commercial interests and intervene in resolving the Kashmir dispute by granting the people of the state their right to self-determination”.
