Azadi leader calls for Tral chalo on Monday

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference general secretary  Shabir Shah on Sunday while expressing grief over the loss of 18 civilians appealed people to march towards Tral to pay tributes to and express solidarity with the families of martyrs.

In a statement, Shah said following the “martyrdom of Shaheed Burhan and his associates, the Indian forces turned the whole valley particularly the south Kashmir into a slaughter house by firing indiscriminately on the innocent people”.

Shah condemned the harassment of people, vandalising of public properties by forces, and arrest of pro-freedom leaders saying the innocent civilians were deliberately targeted by the occupational forces.

Shah said these people “pro-India camp has given a free hand to killer forces to shower bullets on civilians just to save their chair and are hell bent on repeating the 2008 and 2010”.

Terming the people’s affection towards Shaheed Burhan as a “referendum”, Shah said this proved India’s stubbornness, negative propaganda against Kashmiris’ freedom movement, repressive policies against pro-freedom leadership couldn’t change the ground reality of Jammu Kashmir but every soul here demands Azadi from India.
