SRINAGAR: Jamiat Ahlehadith on Friday condemned the grenade attack on the residence of its member Zubair Ahmad Tahiri, who is the son of veteran Islamic scholar Abdul Rashid Tahiri.
The Batamaloo residence of Tahiri was attacked on Eid, the religious organisation said in a statement issued here.
“This is the second attack on the house this year. The police and authorities showed reluctance even in registering a case. They, therefore, directly or indirectly boosted the attackers and put into jeopardy the life of Zubair Tahiri and his family,” it said.
Jamiat leaders said the attackers stand exposed, while stating that Jamiat was standing firmly behind the family.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front too condemned the attack.
Chairman of the party, Mohammad Yasin Malik, said, “This is the second time when this house has been attacked by goons. After the last attack, the police and authorities were reluctant to register a case.”
