Azadi camp pay tributes to Burhan, his colleagues

Srinagar: Paying glowing tributes to prominent Hizbul Mujahideen commanders Burhan Muzaffar Wani, Sartaj Ahmad Wani and Parvez Ahmad, who were killed in Kokernag on Friday evening, pro-freedom leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement have said that sacrifices of the youth of Kashmir are the biggest asset of the ongoing resistance movement.
Stressing that complete shutdown and massive protests over the martyrdom of Burhan and his associates has once again proved how involved and committed the people of Kashmir specially the youth are toward their just struggle, the resistance leaders in a statement issued to KNS condemned the indiscriminate firing by government forces on peaceful protestors in the length and breadth of valley resulting in 8 deaths so far and more than 150 injuries.
The resistance leadership has jointly called for observing a complete shutdown on July 10 (Sunday) and July 11 (Monday) to protest civilian Killings and the Naked aggression which has been unleashed by the state authorities. Urging people to reach to their respective Masjids peacefully and raise slogans in protest of these killings by using the loudspeakers and public address systems.
Stressing that sacrifices, martyrdoms, detentions and tortures were part and parcel of the resistance movements, the resistance leadership said Kashmir’s resistance struggle is for a just cause and people should show all the more involvement and consistency in these difficult times. Expressing faith that the blood of martyrs would not go waste, they said that people of Kashmir specially the youth were offering selfless sacrifices for the just and a noble cause of freedom.
The leadership also condemned the imposition of curfew in Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir valley, disallowing funeral prayers in absentia at Jama Masjid, barbarism unleashed on peaceful protesters with indiscriminate firing by government forces and said the state government was not even allowing people to grieve over the martyrdom of their loved ones or participate in their funeral prayers by using excessive force, anti-democratic and dictatorial tactics to break their resolve, which should serve as an eye opener for the international community and the emancipated world.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Shah Geelani,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik continue to be either under house arrest or detention while dozens of Senior leaders and activists of Hurriyat and JKLF have also been arrested or detained including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, , Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Adv. Shahidul Islam, Altaf Ahmed shah ,Javid Ahmed Mir ,Ayaz Akbar, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and many others.
