Hassan Mir censures Govt for hike in legislators’ salary

Srinagar: Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) Chairman and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has censured the state government for doubling the salary of legislators and not implementing 7th pay commission in the state.
“When political bosses have to double their salary and perks then financial position of J&K is strong. When it comes for 7th pay commission for government employees, then reply is to wait because of financial conditions of our State,” Mir said.
“Is this justice? Widows and old age people get 200 rupees per month that too after six months. We can’t give those 2000 per month on priority basis but can double salaries and perks of rulers,” Mir said in a statement.
The government has doubled the salaries of legislators, but has asked the government employees to wait for at least two years for 7th pay commission.
