SRINAGAR: Expressing anguish over the announcement of 25 year imprisonment by an Egyptian court to the country’s ex-President Dr Mohammad Mursi, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani termed it the “murder of justice”.
In a statement issued here, Geelani said no circumstantial evidences were produced in the said court to prove Mursi’s crime. “He (Mursi) is punished for being a true Muslim and it is an international conspiracy hatched by America, Zionist forces and their sympathisers in Egypt,” he said.
The Hurriyat (G) chairman said the way the Muslim Brotherhood leaders and activists are being executed and prosecuted in Egypt is very alarming. “It is high time for the world community and human rights organisations to think how sincere they are in their claims of justice and democracy,” Geelani said.
