Srinagar: The Directorate of Students Welfare (DSW) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organised a two lecture series on “role of physical exercise in mental development” and “physical fitness for a disciplined life,” for its administrative staff at Nowgam-II block and faculty and students of the integrated B.Sc-M.Sc programmes at Sonwar academic block on June 10 and 11 respectively.
The lectures were delivered by Dr. D L Choudhary, an expert from the Central University of Jammu (CUJ).
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar and DSW Director, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka were also present.
Addressing the staffers, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, highlighted the importance of physical exercise and stress management for the overall wellbeing, growth and development of individuals.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, while addressing the gathering said, the main objective of organizing the lecture was to sensitize the administrative staff, faculty and students about the ways and means to de-stress oneself. The varsity, Prof. Zargar said, would continue to hold such activities which would prove beneficial to all the stakeholders in the university.
