GANDERBAL: In connection with annual Kheer Bhawani Mela, the Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD), Ajay Kumar Nanda, on Sunday visited Tulmulla to pay obeisance at Mata Bhawani Asthapan and took part in the religious ceremonies there. The minister interacted with the devotees and enquired about arrangements put in place by the district administration for the smooth conduct of the festival.
He hailed the efforts of the employees of Civil Secretariat who have set up a langar at Tulmulla where, besides, food and other items, free medicines have been kept available for the devotees.The minister also inspected CA&PD store where sufficient stock of ration was kept available for the convenience of devotees thronging the shrine. The Minister also inspected the arrangements including, sanitation measures in and around the venue, drinking water supply and health care facilities made by the district administration for the Mela.Nanda also visited Emergency Hospital set up at Tulmulla and enquired about those devotees who were injured at Khanabal in stone throwing incident last evening. He directed the authorities of Health Department to provide free treatment to the injured and prayed for their early recovery.
