Sugar supply diverted to Anantnag, accuses Jora

SRINAGAR: Congress legislature party leader, Nawang Rigzin Jora, on Friday said the government has diverted all the sugar supply to Anantnag in view of the by-poll scheduled on June 21.
The accusation evoked sharp reaction from Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone who challenged the legislator to prove the allegation.
“I challenge you to prove the allegation. This government will resign if the accusation is proven,” he said in a furious tone.
Jora referred to a report published in an Urdu daily on diversion of sugar supplies to Anantnag.
Jora said that the ruling party has sensed defeat in the assembly by-poll and that is the reason for withdrawing security of the Congress state president GA Mir who is campaigning in the constituency.
“President of our party is not being provided escort during the campaigning,” Jora said.
Later, Speaker Kavinder Gupta asked the government to provide security to the congress leader. “Whatever security is required must be provided,” he said.
