JKLF campaigns for by-poll boycott in Anantnag

SRINAGAR: Reiterating its call for boycott of the Anantnag by-poll, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday said the people cannot “vote for and strengthen those people who want to snatch our identity from”.
“They want to turn majority into minority here and who are hell bent upon killing our young ones and are deployed to fulfill conspiratorial agenda of RSS on Kashmir,” the party leaders said.
They, according to a statement issued here, were addressing public gatherings in parts of Anantnag.
They said the by-poll, scheduled on June 22, was again an “anti-Kashmiri practice meant to harm our national interests”.
“We all should boycott this process,” they said. “History stands witness to the fact that while these so-called elections are fought in the name of so-called progress and development, people who take part in these elections remain only deployed for safeguarding the interests of India, strengthening its illegal occupation… and to provide a license to Indian army and forces for killing and torturing Kashmiris.”
They said all black laws were a product of the state Assembly, which is the house providing shelter to the “killer forces” and hiding “their crimes behind the so-called democracy”.
“It is actually against human dignity to vote for such Assembly,” JKLF men said.
In the meetings, a written message from JKLF’s incarcerated chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, was also delivered to the people.
