Sopore: A two-day camp of the Regional Passport Office of Kashmir in Sopore concluded on Sunday. This was the first such camp in Sopore tehsil and it was held at the government boys’ higher secondary school.
The number of passport applications received at the camp from the area’s people was expected to cross 300.
Locals said they appreciated this move of the passport office and hoped that more of them would be held in the future.
Junior passport officer Mohd Ayub Khan, who managed the camp, said that the office usually holds such camps in far-flung areas. He informed that this was the first time that a passport camp was being held in Sopore.
To monitor the situation, Superintendent of Police Harmeet Singh with other officers was present at the camp.
