Srinagar: Managing Director of United Commercial Bank (UCO Bank), Ravi Shankar Takkar, on Tuesday inaugurated a renovated branch, which was inundated during the 2014 floods, here at Budshah Chowk.
Later, he chaired a customer-bank meet at Hotel Lala Rukh. On being asked whether the bank will relax interest rates on the lines of other banks like Jammu and Kashmir Bank, the MD said the UCO bank, being a national bank, had no such power.
Meanwhile, UCO Bank customers demanded a special package for flood-hit victims. Ali Mohamad, a UCO Bank customer said: “A special program to revive the economy of Kashmir should be implemented by the bank.”
