Pampore: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Tuesday started a fresh training programme for unemployed youth in Jammu district.
The three-week Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) is aimed at carrying forward the objective of making the educated unemployed youth self reliant, a statement issued by the institute said on Tuesday.
The EDP for 55 candidates under ‘seed capital and youth start up loan schemes’ being implemented by JKEDI is being held at Jammu office of the institute. The candidates shall be trained for three weeks, including a field visit and industrial tour. Sixty-five candidates were interviewed, out of which 55 were allowed to join the EDP.
The training programme is modeled for manufacturing, services and agri-allied sectors and the aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen various entrepreneurial activities to start their ventures.
The main objective of the EDP is to help the participants imbibe the required entrepreneurial and managerial skills so that they are able to start and run their own ventures successfully.
