SRINAGAR: Independent legislator Sheikh Abdul Rashid was accused of being an agent of the Intelligence Bureau by NC legislator Mohammad Akbar Lone when Rashid tried to disrupt the speech of another legislator Mohammad Shafi Uri in the assembly.
Uri was speaking about the unkept promises made by New Delhi with the state in the past 60 years when Rasheed intercepted him by saying that NC wanted to take credit for some “cosmetic work done by late Sheikh Sahib.”
“Let NC not feel shy in confessing that NC is responsible for creating Kashmir issue, as Sheikh Sahib went on changing his stands and made nation confusing and vulnerable,” Rasheed said while Uri was commenting on the budget proposed by the state government on Monday.
After the Rasheed’s remarks, NC legislators stood up from their benches asked him to keep mum.
Deputy speaker Nazir Gurazi intervened and told Rashed “you always create nuisance in the house. This house is not your property,” Nazir said.
“If telling truth is a nuisance, I will keep it saying always till I am alive,” Rasheed responded.
