Efforts on to prepare revised Srinagar Master Plan: Nirmal Singh

SRINAGAR: The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh while replying to a question of S. Dharambir Singh Oberio, informed the House that efforts are underway to prepare revised Master Plan for the Srinagar City.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the midterm revision of the Master Plan 2000-21 has been prepared by SDA in consultation with Town Planning Organization, Kashmir. Dr Singh, who is also Minister for Housing & Urban Development, informed that the Department has been working tirelessly with almost 85% achievement on the preparation of the revision of Master Plan.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the efforts are afoot to complete the development trajectory, proposed land use map, zonation, building byelaws and social infrastructure planning which are likely to be completed by the end of July 2016, adding that it would subsequently be put in the public domain for suggestions and objections.
He informed the House that Master Plans for other towns of the state would also be prepared soon. He said that the Master Plan for Jammu city has been prepared and has been put in the public domain for inviting suggestions and objections from different sections of societ.
