Baramulla: The residents of Drangbal here protested on Tuesday to demand maintenance of a dilapidated road.
A number of residents from the north Kashmir village reached the Baramulla office of the Roads & Buildings department to stage the protest.
They blocked the main gate of the office for hours to demand macadamisation of the three-kilometer Baramulla-Drangbal road. The road, they said, has been in a bad state for the last several years.
“There are hundreds of potholes on the road, but the department has left it unattended for the past several years,” Ghulam Mohammad Khan, one of the protesters, said.
“Some private telecommunication companies recently dug up the road to lay cables for 4G network, but they didn’t repair it once they were done with their project.”
The R&B authorities concerned could not be contacted for comments, as they were not present at their offices.
