Bandipore: A team of officers headed by Tehsildar Hajin Moin Kakroo on Tuesday seized the property of notorious Ikhwani Rashid Billa, following court directions in a case of murder of seven persons in Saderkoot, a village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora.
The police also seized the property of another accused in the case. The action comes after the Sumbal court on April 19 told the deputy commissioner Bandipora to seize the property of the accused. The court issued the order after police failed to produce the accused in court for the umpteenth time.
The Sumbal court was hearing the case of the murder of two women and five men at Bunpora, Saderkoot, on October 5, 1996. The accused are still untraceable and the victims’ families as well as the locals say that the police are providing refuge to Rashid Billa.
