SRINAGAR: A delegation of Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders visited Shopian on Monday.
On the directions of Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, the delegation visited the south Kashmir district and participated in the function held in memory of Asiya and Neelofar, a statement issued here by the conglomerate said.
The delegation demanded reopening of the double murder and rape case, it said.
“There were enough evidences available to prove the big hand of the Indian agencies in this unfortunate incident, but all those evidences and proofs were eliminated under a well thought out plan,” they said.
“The then-government of Omer Abdullah played an important role in shielding the real culprits and hushing up the case by misusing the government machinery,” they added, paying tributes to the victims.
