SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Sunday said the entire resistance leadership has a clear stand against the “anti-Kashmir” and “anti-people” policies which are aimed at harming the interests of Kashmiri people.
The conglomerate in a statement issued here said that changing the demographic character of the state or diluting the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir would be resisted with complete determination and unity.
It condemned the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and lodging him at Central Jail Srinagar. “By doing so, the government is only exhibiting its frustration,” he said.
Condemning the continuous house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani, the conglomerate said, “Government seems to have been frustrated by coming forward of the united resistance leadership for the larger goal of Kashmiri people and was now cracking down on the resistance leadership and workers through detentions, house arrests, restrictions and curbs. Such tactics had never worked against the resistance movement in the past nor would they work in the future.”
Hurriyat (M) also condemned the house arrest of its senior leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and sought immediate release of all the resistance leaders from detentions and house detentions.
“The puppet government doesn’t have the courage to fight the resistance leadership politically and as such is banning their peaceful activities, thereby accepting the defeat,” it said.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by senior leader of the amalgam leader Musadiq Adil visited the house of slain militant Adil Ahmad Mir at Brath Sopore and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Paying tributes to Asia and Nelofar of Shopian south Kashmir, the conglomerate said even after the passing of seven years the killers go unpunished.
