Rasheed slams both govt and opposition

SRINAGAR: Langate MLA Engineer Rasheed frequently interrupted CM Mehbooba Mufti’s speech in the assembly on Saturday and accused that what she was reading was the script given to her from Nagpur.
Rasheed also accused Leader of Opposition Omar Abdullah of not countering the CM’s anti-Kashmir policies because of a “guilty conscience”.
Confronting Mehbooba over the plan to build sainik colonies, Rasheed asked why do sainiks need separate colonies after retirement. He ridiculed Mehbooba’s explanation that Muslims and Sikhs will also be settled in transit colonies for Kashmiri Pandits and said that what prevents Kashmiri Pandits from settling in their own places if many Pandits are already living in communal harmony with their Muslim brothers.
Rasheed also lashed out at the NC saying that this party was the root cause of all the sufferings of Kashmiris. “The way NC used to call Congress leaders ‘gutter worms’ and then felt no shame in joining hands with Congress, the PDP is using the same formula to justify its alliance with BJP,” he said.
Rasheed said that he had nothing personal against the BJP but its communal and anti-Muslim agenda needed to be countered with full force. He told Omar Abdullah that had he punished even one cop during his regime, security forces would never have dared to kill five innocents in Handwara.
