Bank XI downs DFA Sgr in summit clash

24th State Football Championship

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bank XI edge past District Football Association Srinagar by 2-1 in the summit clash of 24th State Football Championship 2015-16 played at TRC ground on Sunday.
Both Bank XI and DFA Srinagar gave exhibition of aggressive game coupled with solid defence. The stipulated 90 minutes had nothing to choose between the two sides as both teams played quality football.
The teams went into the break with a stalemate.
Bank XI had first success with their striker Rohit thumping the ball into the goal post to have their side in front in the 60th minute of second half.
But joy could last only five minutes with Asrar helping his side DFA Srinagar to make a comeback with an equalizer.
In the second half both teams exhibited aggressive approach to the game, Chances were created by the both teams, but lacked the finishing touches.
Support staff from the both teams did bring some changes in the last minutes and in the dying minutes of the game Danish scored the decisive goal and helped his side to seal victory.
Chairman Kashmir Economic Alliance Mohammad Yaseen Khan was the chief guest on the price distribution ceremony.
The tournament was organised by Jammu Kashmir Football Assocition.
