Srinagar: Democratic Freedom Party’s chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah, on Friday reacted to the assertions made by the Defence Minister of India, Manohar Parrikar, saying, “Our stand on these draconian laws is amply clear”.
In a statement issued here, Shah, who continues to be incarcerated, said, “Our mission is freedom of Jammu and Kashmir and apart from AFSPA, there are other black laws enforced in Kashmir just to extend forcible occupation and to kill innocents people of the Valley.”
“It was alright if Manohar Parrikar would have said that they have imposed AFSPA and other black laws to make Kashmir Valley a slaughter house,” he said.
He said the minister’s statement should be an eye-opener for the state government. After his remarks, Shah said, the pro-Indians politicians should accept “the reality that they are need-based daily-wagers for New Delhi”.
The DFP chairman said the state government doesn’t have the courage to speak even a word over Parrikar’s statement.
“They are afraid of losing the power they got by deceiving people and they are not able to utter a word before New Delhi over innocent killings,” he said.
Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson condemned the crackdown against the pro-freedom leaders and activists.
