Young Islamia, Salfia Cricket win their matches

Late GM Gilkar Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament

SRINAGAR: Young Islamia and Salfia Cricket Club won their respective matches in the ongoing Late GM Gilkar memorial T-20 cricket tournament matches played at Bijbehara Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day played between Young Islamia and Dashing Sports Hutmurah in which former beat later by a five wickets.
Batting first Dashing Sports put a decent total of 154 on the board. Danish played a 35 ball cameo scoring quick fire 55 runs, down the order M. Asif scored a patient 23 off 18 balls.
In reply Young Islamia comfortably chased down the target in the allotted 20 overs; Mudasir scored 47 of just 37 deliveries and was well supported by Shabir, who scored 31 from 30 balls. For Dashing Sports Showkat and Imtiyaz took three wickets each.
Mudasir for his 47 run knock was adjudged man of the match.
In the second fixture of the day
Salfia Cricket Club beat Sunrise Cricket Club by 20 runs. Batting first Salfia Cricket Club scored 150 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Aquib Khanday was the star performer with willow for Salfia Club scoring quick fire 74 from just 43 balls. He was ably supported by Aquib Ahmad who scored 29 from 23 balls.
Clu52b lost the match by 20 runs ( basharat 52 of 29 balls & mushtaq 31 of 21 balls were the main run getters (aaqib khanday was declared man of the match for his bating performance.
In reply Sunrise Cricket lost wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 130. Basharat 52 of 29 balls and Mushtaq 31 of 21 balls were the only two from Sunrise club who could exploit the conditions.
Aquib Khanday of Salfia Cricket Club was declared man of the match for his batting performance.
The tournament is organised by Bijbehara Cricket Organization and is sponsored by MAK Plyboards, Kanwal Foods and Spices and Blue Pearl Home Appliances.
