SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, on Friday termed the killing of two youths at Sarai Bala here as a “custodial killing”.
He was reacting to the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement about police being the savior in Kashmir.
“It is her police and forces that only one day before killed two young boys in custody that too in broad daylight at Sairai Bala,” Malik said in a statement issued here.
Malik said hypocrisy has been the trademark of pro-India politicians since 1947.
“While asking for votes, these politicians wear green and swear by Azadi and Pakistan. But after assuming power, they start abusing and accusing both. Mehbooba Mufti’s Azadi and Pakistan bashing falls in the same category of hypocritical politics,” he said.
“Custodial killing in broad daylight at Sarai Bala shows the real face of India and its Kashmiri stooges.”
Earlier this week, Mehbooba had thanked Jammu and Kashmir police for saving Kashmir from becoming Pakistan, Iraq, or Syria.
Malik said the CM was trying to “justify police and forces atrocities and human rights violations” and was also trying “to please her masters in Delhi” by demonising Pakistan.
“She used to shed tears on corps of martyrs and raise slogans against same police for killings of innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Malik, according to the statement, visited Sarai Bala earlier in the day. He visited the house in which they were putting up.
He was informed by the people about the circumstances in which the youths were “killed after being taken into custody”, the statement said.
“Yasin Malik was also informed by people about the family, with whom these two martyrs were living as tenants, that SOG party that killed these boys looted this family and golden ornaments worth lakhs,” it said.
“This poor family has been left shattered by this loot and people are protesting against this criminal behavior of forces.”
