Technology helps game, enhances spectator experience: Tendulkar

DUBAI: Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar said on Monday he backs the use of technology even though he was the first batsman to be given out by the third umpire after TV replays.
“When it comes to technology, I am always on for it even though I was the first to be given out via technology in South Africa in 1992,” Sachin said.
“In 2002, when laptop entered the dressing room, we thought what is it doing here. However, we engaged into what could be achieved with its help. Our team meetings became more precise due to technology,” Sachin, 43, said after inaugurating an online retail initiative launched by a Dubai- based Indian-owned healthcare firm Aster Pharmacy.
“Now you can see the areas where the batsman scores in the first few overs and then later in the innings. It is getting more and more precise.
