Dragmulla ‘gunfight’: Lashkar statement surprises residents

Baramulla: The presidents of Dragmulla village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday expressed shock over the statement of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in which the militant outfit has stated that its five members were killed in a gunfight with the Indian army on Sunday.
The villagers said there was no gunfight between the army and the militants at Check, Dragmulla, on Sunday. They said the militants were killed by the army at some other place and the bodies were brought to the area.
“It all was staged,” a villager, whishing anonymity, told Kashmir Reader.
The villagers said they were surprised to see the outfit’s statement.
“We can’t comprehend as to how LeT claimed that their members participated in the encounter and were martyred. It all was staged. The men (militants) had been killed several days ago,” another villager said.
They appealed LeT to review its statement.
