Vohra congratulates Indian army officer Jamwal for scaling Mt Everest

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on Friday congratulated Lt Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal and his team for scaling Mount Everest.

In a message to the Indian army chief, the Governor has conveyed his greetings and congratulations to Lt Col Jamwal, Leader of the Indian army Everest team, and other members, for their outstanding success in scaling the world’s highest peak on Thursday.

Noting that Lt Col Jamwal hails from Jammu region, the Governor has sent a congratulatory message to his family and invited the mountaineer to Raj Bhavan.

Lt Col Jamwal and his team scaled Mount Everest at 6:07 AM yesterday braving inclement weather conditions.

The expedition to scale the world’s highest peak at 8,848 metres was launched after a hiatus of two years following the Nepal earthquake.
