Mercury zooms over 30° in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The capital city of Srinagar on Friday experienced yet another hot day with the mercury soaring at 30.9 degrees celsius, 6 notches above normal, even as the Meteorological department predicting light rains and thundershowers on Saturday evening.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy on Saturday with the possibility of light rains and thundershowers at isolated places. However, the overall weather will be dry,” said an official of the weather department.

According to MeT officials, the maximum temperature in Srinagar on Saturday is expected to hover around 31 degrees celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to settle at 14 degrees celsius.

At 5:30 pm, the relative humidity was recorded at 27 per cent.

Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were settled at 30.7 and 14. 1 degree celsius respectively.
