SRINAGAR: A senior lawyer defending railway constables involved in murder case of an engineering student claimed that a police official’s relative is linked to the murder mystery.
“I am not scared to say that a police official’s daughter is involved in this case. And police is hiding that person from the whole chapter,” Molvi Aijaz said while arguing his case in Budgam court.
“Owais was kidnapped and then killed. And there was an eyewitness on the scene of crime. Who is this person being shielded,” he asked.
“A mechanism should be devised so that the case is investigated properly and the real culprit or the other person involved in this murder is booked,” he said.
“The forensic report clearly proves that police cooked up a fictional tale”, Aijaz, known for taking up controversial cases, told the court.
Aijaz’s clients are railway constables accused of dragging Owais’s and not informing the police in right time. The bail plea of the railway constables has been rejected several times by the judge.
“I will ask the punishment from court what my clients deserve. But they cannot accuse them for everything and let the real culprit roam freely,” he said.
