BSF jawan among two killed in Ramban

Banihal: Two persons, including a BSF jawan, were killed today and three other jawans injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Ramban district, police said.
BSF constable Babi Rai and driver Ghulam Nabi died on the spot when a Jammu-bound passenger vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge in Tethar area of Banihal, they said.
The injured have been identified as Head Constable Samar Kumar, Constable Lal Babu Kumar and constable Dev Raj, Station House Officer (SHO) Banihal Nazir Dar said, adding they have been hospitalised.
A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is underway, he said.
The deceased jawan and the injured personnel belong to the 11th battalion of the BSF, Dar said.
In Kashmir division, a minor girl was among 10 persons injured in different road accidents, police said on Monday. In Anantnag, police said, an accident took place between a Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK03B-5728 and an Inova vehicle bearing registration number JK03D-2728 at General Road Sakdass in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sirgufwara, resulting in injuries to two persons Urmy-de-Joshe resident of Gujrat and Kafeel Ahmad Mir resident of Gadiseer, Bijbehara.
They said that both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Anantnag police has registered a case in this regard.
In Awantipora, a Sumo bearing registration number JK03D-9294 collided with a Tipper of RAMKY company bearing registration number UP21AN-2708 at Galander in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pampore, resulting in injuries to Bopinder Singh resident of Kangloora, Tral, they said,.The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment, they added.
Meanwhile, police said, a Tipper bearing registration number JK01U-2537 collided with a Santro car bearing registration number JK13B-8029 near Galander in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pampore, resulting in injuries to two persons Mohammad Younis Dar resident of Ratnipora and Raja Begum resident of Tangpuna, Pulwama.Police added that both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment wherefrom Younis Dar was referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment.
Awantipora police has registered cases in both the accidents, they said.In Sopore, they said, a bus bearing registration number JK05-6177 hit and injured a minor girl Asmat Ashiq resident of Yarbugh at Yarbugh in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha. They said that the injured was shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment, wherefrom she was referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment.
They said Sopore police has registered a case in this regard.
In Baramulla, an accident took place between a Swift car bearing registration number DL12CB-0234 and a Scooty bearing registration number JK05C-9726 near Pattan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pattan, resulting in injuries to two persons Adnan Sheikh and Shakir Ahmad Sheikh residents of Noorbagh, Baramulla, they said.
They said that both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Pattan for treatment, wherefrom they were referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment. Baramulla police has registered a case in this regard.
In Srinagar, a Safari vehicle bearing registration number HRIIB-8100 collided with an Auto Rickshaw bearing registration number JK01D-7973 at Sonwar near Amar Singh Club in the jurisdiction of Police Station R.M Bagh, resulting in injuries to Auto Rickshaw driver Ashraf Ahmad Sheikh and Soliha resident of Benamsar, Sonwar who was boarding the Auto Rickshaw. They said that both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Srinagar police has registered a case in this regard, they added.
