SRINAGAR: A one-day conference on Imam-i-Azam Abu-Hanifa (RA) was held here on Sunday by Idara Mohsin-e-aalameen International J&K. The event was held under the chairmanship of J&K State President Jamiat Hamdani, Moulana Riyaz Ahmad Hamdani.
The conference, held at Alama Iqbal Hall at Nowpora, Khanyar, was attended by Ulemas, religious scholars, Imams of various mosques, besides commoners.
The participants included Mufti Nasr-ul-Islam, Moulana Riyaz Ahmad Handani, Moulana Showkat Ahmad Keng, Moulana Ghulam Rasool of Hazratbal Shrine, Al Haaj Ghulam Qadir Lala, Dr Ghulam Qadir Alaqaband, Abdul Haq Owasi, and Khursheed Ahmad Kanoongoo.
Speaking on the occasion, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was the guest of honour, highlighted described Imam-i-Azam (RA) “as a great Islamic scholar who always worked for popularising the Islamic teachings as per Holy Quran and Sunnah”.
The speakers said the jurisprudence of Imam-i-Azam (RA) has always been regarded as most appropriate for settling various Islamic issues that originate in day-to-day life.
The speakers expressed their gratitude to Idara Mohsin-e-Aalameen Jammu and Kashmir for organising this conference. The conference concluded with prayers.
