Bandipora: The residents of Bandipora tehsil in north Kashmir are aghast over the unavailability of tehsildar.
Since the transfer of the previous tehsildar a few months back, tehsildar Ajas was made in-charge of Bandipora tehsil in addition to his own duties.
Since then, the government made no effort to appoint a fulltime tehsildar at Bandipora. The makeshift arrangement has left the administrative affairs unattended at Bandipora, as the in-charge tehsildar cannot handle two tehsil with equal attention and authority.
It has left the people enraged. President Patwar Association Aadil Ahmad said: “Due to the defunct tehsil office, the employees have been without salary for the last two months.”
District President Revenue, Maqsood Ahmad Khan, said the no administrative case was being handled at tehsil office Bandipora. Assistant commissioner Revenue, Masarat Hashim, agreed that the in-charge tehsildar was only able to small cases.
“The government has not yet ordered posting of any new tehsildar at Bandipora. We are waiting for the government order,” he said.
