Bandipora: A tussle between senior doctors has badly hit the patient care at District Hospital, Bandipora.
Patients, who were referred from ticket counter to a Physician’s room, found it padlocked on Saturday. The room remained locked for hours together giving a tough time to the patients who had come from far off places to see the doctor.
Insiders said that last week, two senior doctors at the hospital had an argument and according to witnesses, the duo hurled abuses at each another over some issue. Reports said one Dr.Majeed posted in the hospital had a scuffle with BMO Dr.Mushtaq and both fired abuses at each other.
Dr. Majeed claims that he had sought anti-rabies vaccines for patients, which BMO decline to provide. Talking to Kashmir Reader BMO Dr. Mushtaq said that anti-rabies vaccines were available in abundance in the hospital and claimed that Dr. Majeed was just creating stories to defame hospital administration. “He just doesn’t want to follow orders and is creating problems,” he said.
CMO Dr. Bashir Malik told Kashmir Reader such activities by some doctors were aimed at defaming the hospital administration. “It’s he (Dr. Majeed) who gathered some men and raised hue and cry inside hospital premises as he doesn’t want to perform his duties,” he said.
Dr. Majeed countered allegations lavelled against him by CMO and BMO. Majeed claimed that the duo was lying and creating hurdles in providing quality treatment to the patients.
The tussle between the two doctors has badly affected patient care. The people have appealed district administration to look into the matter has clear the mess in the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora has ordered an inquiry in this regard.
