HAJIN: FC Golabwari crushed Poison FC Batwina 4-1 in the ongoing 6th Mushtaq Memorial Football tournament here on Wednesday.
Prolific striker Shahid and midfielder Arshid Ahmad scored a brace each while Mushtaq too struck a goal to complete the rout at the Hajin pitch.
On a sunny afternoon, Golabwari began the game on the offensive and took the lead instantly in the 8th minute.
After Shahid did well to beat his marker on the right and run free on the flank, his low cross into the box was handled by a defender. But soon Shahid managed to beat the PFC keeper for an opener. Ten minutes later, Golabwari doubled their lead after Arshid got on the scoresheet.
Golabwari FC continued to dominate proceedings thereafter, and created a few close chances but lacked the lady luck.
After continuous pressure, Golabwari FC finally got the third in the 32nd minute. Shahid once again was the architect of the goal as he dispossessed an opponent on the left and ran free before beating a defender and hammered home a low attempt at the first post to complete his brace. Golabwari FC took their three goal advantage into the breather.
GFC dominance continued for the second half as they Mushtaq too joined the party after beating defenders to find the FCB net making it to 4-0. Though Poison FC Batwina tried to counter the GFC attack but were unsuccessful. The tournament is being organised by Wahab sports Hajin.
