SRINAGAR: The road leading towards Bonpora Nowgam has been inundated with rain and sewage waters with residents saying that there is an imminent danger of breakout of disease if the water is not cleared.
The locals told Kashmir Reader that they have to wade through knee deep filthy water to reach to their homes. The muddy water has even seeped into the nearby houses.
Abdul Khaliq, Panch of the area said that they approached different civic departments here to clear the waters and lay a proper drainage network in the area, but no one has turned up so far.
“We met the officials from Public Works Department and even sent representation to drainage department, but none has turned up so far,” he said. The residents have appealed the authorities to immediately clear the accumulated water in the area.
