MeT predicts light rainfall

SRINAGAR: The Regional Meteorological Department in its weather outlook has predicted light rainfall at few places in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

“Light to moderate rain with thundershowers would occur at few places over the state during the next 24 hours,” a weather official told Kashmir Reader.

“Further, there are chances of scattered to widespread rainfall with thundershowers on Friday,” the official added.

According to MeT department, maximum and minimum temperature in Srinagar on Thursday is expected to be 22 and 13 degrees celsius wheras in Jammu, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 20 degrees celsius respectively.

On Wednesday, mostly dry weather prevailed in most parts of the state. However, Pahalgam in Kashmir division and Batote and Baderwah received light rainfall from 8:30 am till 5:30 pm.

Pahalgam received a total rainfall of 2.2 mm whereas Batote and Baderwah saw a rainfall of 0.2 and 0.6 mm respectively.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in Srinagar today was recorded at 27.2 degrees celsius whereas in Jammu, the mercury reached to a high of 34.6 degrees celsius.
