SRINAGAR: Terming JK Industrial Policy-2016 approved during the governor’s rule as “the last nail in the coffin of the Kashmir’s resistance”, chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Tuesday said it was “another step in the sequence of conspiracies aimed at changing the demography of Kashmir”.
“An industrial policy inviting hundreds of Indian business tycoons and industrialists, the establishment of Sianik Colonies and separate homeland for Pandits, confirm a well thought out sequence of events and conspiracies by India aimed only at changing the demography of the Jammu and Kashmir,” she said in a statement issued here.
She was referring to the approval of JK Industrial Policy-2016 by the government under the governor’s rule in March this year. The policy will remain effective up to March 31, 2026.
If implemented, this policy, she said, would have “disastrous consequences for the Kashmir cause”.
“This policy will prove to be last nail in the coffin of Kashmir’s resistance movement. If people don’t resist the implementation of this policy, then by 2026, the Valley will be flooded with the outsiders and Kashmiris will have no option but to flee from here,” she added.
