Traffic mess: anti-encroachment drive launched

SRINAGAR: Acting swiftly on the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s direction, the administration on Saturday removed encroachments from footpaths and took serious note of the wrong parking here.
A team comprising of DC Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone, SSP Traffic, Maqsood-uz-Zaman, Commissioner SMC Bashir Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir (armed) Deepak Kumar along with other senior district officials, during a monitoring drive, took a serious note of encroachments and illegal parking in the city, a senior government official said.
“Today footpaths and roads in Lal Chowk, Hari Singh High Street and adjoining areas were cleared,” he said
Meanwhile, the government officials said the drive will continue till all the hawkers and illegal constructions causing hindrance for the smooth movement of the traffic are removed.
