SRINAGAR: The Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Saturday held a meeting of its district heads and office bearers which was presided over by its president and chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, at the party headquarters, Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar.
As per a statement issued here, during the meeting, the participants paid tributes to AAC founder ‘Shaheed-e-Millat’ Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and resolved that the organisation would carry forward his mission.
The meeting deliberated on the ongoing political situation and various organisational matters including finalising of arrangements and preparations for the ‘Hafta-e-Shahadat’ programme being organised by AAC.
“Tributes were also paid to Hawal martyrs and Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone,” the statement said, adding that for making the organisation’s May 21 public rally at Martyrs’ Graveyard, Eidgah a grand success, the AAC district presidents would lead the rallies towards Eidgah.
Addressing the meeting, Mirwaiz urged the participants to mobilise all organisational units for making the ‘Hafta-e-Shahadat’ programme a success.
“At the political and resistance level, the entire Kashmiri nation including the resistance leadership and the freedom-loving people are at the receiving end of all types of aggression carried against them. Attempts are being made to create a gulf between the people and resistance leadership,” he said.
