Hurriyat (G) condemns PSA detention of leaders

SRINAGAR: Condemning the slapping of another PSA on Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders, Syed Ali Geelani-led Hurriyat on Thursday termed it as PDP’s campaign to arrest pro-freedom leaders.
“Mehbooba Mufti-led government had started a new campaign of arrests and slapping PSAs against the Hurriyat leaders and the Indian army along with Jammu and Kashmir police has been given free hand,” Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said in a statement.
“The sweet slogans “Goli nahi Boli” and “Battle of Ideas” of PDP had never appeared on the ground. They have surrendered all their political philosophies to the RSS for the chair of power,” he said, adding, “Another PSA has been invoked on the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders, Ameer Hamza Shah and Nasir Abdullah. Also Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, Molvi Abdul Ahad and Mir Hafizullah are under police detention despite quashing of PSAs. “PSA against the leaders should be revoked and they should be released immediately,” he demanded.
Meanwhile, the pro-freedom party also demanded immediate release of all the political prisoners including Masarat Alam Bhat, Abdul Gani Bhat, Hakeem Showkat, Assadullah Parray, Mehraj-ud-din Shairgujri and Zubair Ahmad Turray.
