6 houses gutted at Noorbagh

SRINAGAR: Six houses were gutted in a major fire that broke out in the congested locality of Shaheen Mohalla, Noor¬bagh, on Tuesday after-noon due to short circuit. There were, however, no causalities.
The residents said fire broke out in a resi¬dential house at Shaheen Mohalla at around 2 pm, and engulfed its adjacent houses within no time.
They said at least 13 houses were gutted.
Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, Mohammad Akbar Dar, however, said that only six houses, including one two-storey and five single-storey structures, were gutted. “Fire ten¬ders arrived at the spot immediately and con¬trolled the fire,” said Dar.
The victims, as per the residents, included Sunaullah Sheikh, Ab¬dul Rahim Sheikh, Ghu¬lam Mohammad Sheikh, Ali Mohammad Sheikh, Nazir Ahmad sheikh, Mohammad Ramzan sheikh, Mohammad Jab¬bar sheikh, and Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh.
