SRINAGAR: Chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah, was on Monday discharged from SKIMS, Soura, after his health condition improved.
“Shah Sahib was discharged on Monday at about 4pm,” his close aide said.
He said the doctors, after examining Shah, said his blood pressure had been low.
“Now, he is stable,” he said.
Shah was hospitalised on Sunday after he suffered a minor cardiac arrest while addressing the party meeting at its Sanat Nagar headquarters.
Shah is also the general secretary of Hurriyat Conference (G). He has been mostly under detention in the recent times.
He was detained in Raj Bagh police station for about two months, and was released last week. He had been arrested after a press briefing hailing militants by saying “they are a part of our movement”.
Since his release, he tried to be involved in his party’s activities, but the state kept him detained at his Sanat Nagar residence.
On Sunday, he was addressing the party workers from all across the state when he felt pain in his chest and fainted. He was rushed to a private hospital where from the doctors shifted him to SKIMS, Soura.
