SRINAGAR: Karan Nagar traders have expressed concern over the abysmal electric wring as well as defunct street lights in the area.
President Traders Federation Karan Nagar Ajaz Shahdhar in a statement here said that this commercial area of Srinagar City has been ignored by the government.
The street lights are defunct since years now and no efforts are made to rectify these to make them functional considering the fact that this road leads to the most leading hospitals of the state SMHS & SKIMS.
“In absence of proper lighting, pedestrians find it difficult to walk along this road, besides trade activity in evening hours too is being hit,”he said.

It added that in past, there have been such instances where people have got electrocuted because of this and there is urgent need to remove the wires besides rotten electric poles in the area.
He also that that even though effort for road widening were taken but those widened roads are yet to be macadamized that is causing lot of inconvenience to general public by all means.
