SRINAGAR: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, on Friday participated in the funeral prayers in absentia of the party’s patron Amanullah Khan, who passed away on Tuesday in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
The prayers, held at polo view Bund Park here, was led by JKLF leader, Altaf Khan.
As per a JKLF statement, funeral prayers in absentia were held at various places across the state including at Kashmir University.
Prior to prayers, Malik while addressing the people said, “All nations are recognised through their great personalities. The late Amanullah Khan was such a personality who chose the way of thorns for the freedom of his nation. Aman Sahib along with his friend Shaheed Maqbool Butt strived for changing the destiny of his nation and kept treading the path without any compromise. It was under his leadership that Kashmiris brought up the historical revolution in 1990.”
