Dubai: Tourist Trade Interest Guild (TTIG) in collaboration with J&K Tourism held a road show at Crown Plaza here on Tuesday, which was inaugurated by Dr. Jassim Al Ali, Head of Information & Broadcasting, Government of Dubai.
Chairman of TTIG Akram Khan Siah in his welcome address highlighted the potential of cultural and adventure tourism of unexplored destinations of Kashmir and urged travel trade community of UAE to promote Jammu and Kashmir with zeal & zest.
Zahoor A Karnai, Secretary General of TTIG in his presentation showcased the varied destination presentations of all the tourism products of J&K, such as skiing, golfing avenues, mountain adventure and indescribable heritage of Kashmir, such as luxury houseboats, Sufi shrines & other heritage sites.
In his address to the gathering of 100 odd tour operators and local media of UAE, Dr. Jassim Al Ali said: “Kashmir, I believe is one of the oldest destination of India as I am told that tourists have been visiting this paradise for more than 100 years, since British time and people of Kashmir are very warm, friendly, hospitable.”
“Despite some difficulties in between, they have emerged as the finest tourism players with total dedication towards promotion of tourism.”
He also assured to extend complete support to TTIG & J&K Tourism in holding further road shows in Dubai.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Pranab Sarkar, the newly elected President of India’s Premier Tourism Body, IATO and Sunil Gandotra, one of the leading Outbound Tour Operator of Dubai.
Bashir Karnai said that it is the vision of Farooq Shah to highlight tourism potential of Kashmir in the international market. He also thanked Hotel Royal Park and The Vintage Gulmarg, The Asian Park and Hotel Royal Park Srinagar for extending their support to this event. Those who were present in the road show were officials of India Tourism & Dubai Tourism & Marketing, besides Rafiq Siah, Ali Mohd Shangloo, Yaseen Tuman, Arshid Ahmad, Yaqoob Khan, Imran Gosani, Firdous Shah, Fayaz Ahmad and Chairman J&K PILTOF, Nasir Shah who was a special invitee of TTIG.
