Srinagar: All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) is going to organize the South Asian Amateur Chess Championship 2016 at Sheri-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex Srinagar from September 6, 2016, a statement issued by the association said.
A spokesperson of the association in a statement said about 300 players from eight SAARC countries are expected to participate.
“This is a very big initiative by AJKCA for promotion of sports in J&K State. The event is recognized by World Chess Federation, Asian Chess Federation, All India Chess Federation and J&K State Sports Council. The circular of event is available on sites www.fide.con or www.aicf.in or www.alljkchess.com. Last date of entry is July 1, 2016 which can be deposited directly in the account as given in the circular and after it may be confirmed by mail in the addresses as given in the circular,” the spokesperson said.
