SRINAGAR: Pro-freedom camp on Friday paid tributes to three militants who were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Lolab area of north Kashmir on Thursday.
In a statement issued here, Hurriyat Conference (G) said, “These brave-hearts laid down their lives for the sacred cause and to end the Indian occupation. These sacrifices will be safeguarded at any cost.”
In a statement issued here, a Hurriyat Conference (M) leader addressed a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid Handwara and paid tributes to militants.
He also condemned the use of force on locals during the past week.
A spokesperson of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), in a statement issued here, also paid tributes to slain militants.
Chairman JKLF (R), Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karate, in a statement issued here said, “We are indebted to the sacrifices of our martyrs who are icons of our freedom movement.”
Dar also criticised the state administration for “perpetrating atrocities against people and arresting the resistance leadership at the behest of communal forces”.
Chief of Lashkar-e-Toiba, Mehmood Shah, also paid tribute to the militants.
In an emailed statement to local news agency KNS, Shah said the people of Kashmir and militants are on the same page.
“The manner in which the people of Kashmir are struggling against the occupational forces gives a strong hope that the freedom struggle of Kashmir will soon reach its logical destination,” he said.
“Poisonous informers are becoming the reason for the martyrdom of valuable Mujahideen. These traitors are selling their faith and the honor of the nation for a few pennies,” he said.
He said, “Until and unless they are rooted out, Indian forces cannot be defeated.”
“We appeal to the people of Kashmir to join us in eradicating the facilitators and the informers of Indian army, as they have always done.”
