SRINAGAR: A delegation of Hurriyat Conference (G) on Thursday visited north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to express solidarity with the families of those killed in firing by government forces last week.
As per a statement issued here, on the directions of conglomerate’s chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, a high-level delegation comprising of deputy general secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Hakeem Abdul Rashid, Bilal Sidiqi, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, and Mohammad Yaseen Attaai visited Kupwara and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
“The delegation later on visited Shaheed Nayeem’s home and held a massive public rally at Handwara Chowk wherein they addressed the people,” the statement said.
Addressing the public gathering, the leaders said, “On one hand, our children are mercilessly killed and on other side, we are denied to mourn their loss. Though pro-India politicians condemn these incidents but they are equally responsible for the bloodshed as they provide justification for India’s forcible occupation in Kashmir. In this situation, we have to remain firm on our stand and should never give up demanding for our rights.”
