SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre here has forecasted light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places over the state during the next 24 hours.
“Spells of rain and thundershowers are expected in the next 24 hours,” a MeT official said.
The weather department has further predicted scattered to fairly widespread rains in its outlook for subsequent two days.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in Srinagar on Friday are likely to be around 15 and 10 degrees celsius respectively while as in Jammu the temperatures will hover around 30 and 19 degrees.
Leh in Ladakh region will expect a maximum temperature of 15 degrees celsius while as the minimum temperature is expected to settle at 3 degrees celsius. Light rains are also expected in Leh on Friday.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Srinagar rose to 22 degrees celsius, an increase of almost one notch against yesterday’s 21.1 degrees celsius.
Qazigund received a maximum of 21.3, Pahalgam 19.7, Kupwara 21.2, Kukernag 21.5 and Gulmarg 12.2 degrees celsius respectively.
Leh and Kargil towns in Ladakh region received maximum temperatures of 16.3 and 18.2 degrees celsius respectively.
While as in Jammu division, Jammu saw a maximum of 35.7, Banihal 24.5, Batote 24.2, Katra 31.6 and Bhaderwah 25 degrees celsius respectively.
Relative humidity recorded at evening in Srinagar was 53 whereas in Jammu it was settled at 29.
