Srinagar: Home grown handset giant Karbonn Mobiles on Monday launched its 4G LTE enabled virtual reality handset Karbonn Quattro L52 VR in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Branch Manager, Karbonn Mobiles¸ Fawzaan Badar said that the device is aggressively priced at Rs 8790, and is a dual SIM 1.3 Ghz Quad core device with a 5” HD IPS 2.5D curve display. “The device is powered by a 2250 mAh battery. Loaded with 2 GB RAM and a 16 GB ROM and is equipped with 8MP Sony sensor rear camera and front 5MP camera,”he said.
The statement added that the Karbonn Quattro L52 VR comes embedded with a very engaging dump of VR videos and VR games. “The phone also has a VR content creator which the users can use to create their own content. The free VR headset enables the user to enter into the virtual world of immersive technology giving the user a theatre like enhanced experience,” the statement added.
Badar added: “There is significant growth potential in the VR segment and the idea is to bring technology to masses at very disruptive prices. Price is going to be critical if we want to see mass adoption in the VR segment. Kashmir has always been a very exciting market for us. ”
The global VR market is set to touch $120 billion by 2020 and India is pegged to become one of the largest markets for it considering the population and smart phone adoption.
